'Mashrabya' is a spiritual, decorative and functional architectural element that merges the form and function of a traditional Arabian window with a conventional jalousie. As an Arab woman myself, living in Mina-Tripoli my entire upbringing, I was inspired by this almost-disappearing traditional art to create the 'Machrabya collection' exclusively for L' Artisan du Liban. The base shape is a star that is repeating with colored threads as a modern touch and reinterpretation of a traditional shape for an everyday or special event accessory. The designs are executed from A to Z by local artisans. All pieces are made in brass gold-plated yellow or nickel-plated.
